I previously had a DECT Bluetooth cordless phone system from VTech that was decent, but missing 2 features that this Panasonic system has– a headset jack on each handset (great if you work from home and wish to walk around the house while on long conference calls), and a backlit keypad (for making calls from low-lit rooms). Now that I’ve used the Panasonic a bit more, I really like some of it’s bonus features as well– it can “speak” the name and number of an incoming caller (great if you’re not near the phone to read the Caller ID screen). I also like that you can connect multiple bluetooth devices to the base station– not only a cell phone or two, but a bluetooth headset as well.
The Caller ID screen features very large text, large time display when not in use, and simple to program phone numbers including phone book import from your cell phone.
I’ve paired this system with an OBi100 VoIP Telephone Adapter and Voice Service Bridge which allows me to make/receive free Google Voice calls as easily as if I were using an old fashioned landline. It’s an awesome combination for free calls to/from US and Canada!
We bought this to replace our old cordless. We like the two-phone set-up. I wish we’d bought the three-phone one. We are techno-phobes but we’re doing OK with this one. We do recommend it.
This phone has features I’ve never thought of. You can set the thing to not ring after a certain time and take callers directly to voice mail, then start ringing again at whatever time you set. My thought is, “I’m happy to talk when I’m awake, but not when I’m asleep.” “Fully featured” doesn’t quite cover it. When I’m bored I can pick up the instruction manual and find something else to make it do. One thing I would improve: the instruction manual was obviously written by engineers for engineers. I think all manuals should be written for people over 60 without technical degrees. Ok, that’s me, but it’s still a good idea.
I was looking for specific technical options with a home phone and this was the one for me. It can be confusing as companies make so many models with many details and the retail stores can’t possibly put them all on the shelf. I love the sound quality, ease of use. I specifically wanted bluetooth compatibility, (for headsets) – can also link up w/ your cell phone, wanted call block and two handsets only. Also wanted it because my land line is w/cable tv and can’t use the phone jacks – 2nd phone only needs it’s charger. Many features! silent mode, alarm clock – It was a great purchase!
Phones were shipped and packed very well from Amazon. They were easy to set up and become operational, first charge on them didn’t take very long at all. Like all of the features including the Bluetooth, moved my Contact list from my Cell to the Base of the Home phone in very little time. Sound quality and volume settings are very good, answering system easy to operate.
Only dislike is the way the Contact list is set-up. A bit clumsy and hard to fing someone, but get’s the job done.
I have pruchased a lot of thing’s from Amazon, all have been as described and the service from Amazon has been very exceptional. Thank You Amazon. You are becoming my personal Wal-Mart at home.
